Arabic vocabulary
How to say “rational” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَحَجَرًا حَجَرًا أَيْسَرُ عَلَى الشَّيْطَانِ مِنْ مُكَابَدَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْعَاقِلِ
Removing it stone by stone is easier for Satan than contending with the rational believer.
الْعَاقِلِ — rational. This adjective describes the preceding 'believer', agreeing with it in definiteness and (genitive) case, 'the rational believer'. It narrows the believer to one of sound mind, the hard case. Matching endings tie the adjective to its noun.
