Arabic vocabulary
How to say “remains” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وصيرها مساكن الخلق تربيهم صغارًا وتضمهم رفاتا،
And He made it the dwellings of creation, nurturing them as infants and receiving them as remains,
رُفَاتًا — as remains. This noun is in the accusative, working as a state-description, 'as remains / while reduced to dust', mirroring the earlier 'as little ones'. So the ending marks the condition the creatures are in when the earth gathers them back, completing the contrast of cradle and grave.
