How to say “repair” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فإذا أراد العبد أن يصلح قلبه، فليقطع هذه القواطع،
If the servant wants to repair his heart, let him cut these obstacles,
يُصْلِحَ — he repairs. Because the particle before it marks this as an aim rather than a real event, the verb takes its subjunctive ending instead of the ordinary present. It still carries its own 'he' subject, and the change of ending is the only audible sign that this repairing is the thing being wanted, not something already done.
