and so is the fasting person; their fast is hidden from the view of creation, it cannot be perceived by their senses.
حَوَاسُّهُمْ — their senses. A broken plural 'senses' with '-hum' (their) attached, nominative as the subject of 'perceive', placed after its verb. The people's faculties, which cannot detect the hidden fast.
