وَقَدْ يَعُودُونَ إِلَى نَوْعٍ مِنَ الْمَعَاصِيِ وَالْفُسُوقِ
And they may return to a kind of sins and transgression.
الْمَعَاصِيِ — the sins. A noun carrying 'the', a plural 'the sins', in the after-preposition ending set by the partitive 'of'. The definiteness marks them as the known category of sins. It is the pool the 'kind' is drawn from.
