Arabic vocabulary
How to say “sought” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَالْتَمَسَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا يَعْرِفُهُ،
So he sought the Prophet, but he did not recognize him.
فَالْتَمَسَ — so he sought. Led by fa-, the tight connector chaining this search onto the prior arrival. The verb carries its own 'he' subject, so it identifies the seeker without a separate pronoun.
