How to say “space” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
إذا أبطأتك هموم الرزق، فاعمل بالأسباب واترك في قلبك فراغًا للثقة، فالقلق لا يزيد في الكيل حبةً واحدة
If worries about sustenance slow you down, act upon the means and leave space in your heart for trust, for anxiety does not add a single grain to the measure.
فَرَاغًا — space. 'faragh' = 'emptiness, space'. The '-an' ending marks it as the object, 'a space'.
From: On Sincerity →الصمتُ ليس فراغًا؛
Silence is not emptiness;
فَرَاغًا — emptiness. 'emptiness / void,' in the -a form precisely because 'is-not' before it forces its predicate there. Silence is NOT a blank — the denial sets up the positive picture in the next sentence: it is a fertile field.
From: On Silence →وفراغك قبل شغلك،
And your free time before you're busy.
وَفَرَاغُكَ — and your free time. The joined 'and' plus a noun 'free time' with an attached 'your' fused on, coordinated as another thing to seize: and your free time. The possessor rides on the suffix; it continues the command's chain.
