Arabic vocabulary
How to say “speak” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقُلْنَ لَهَا كَلِّمِيْهِ حَتَّى يُكَلِّمَكِ،
And they said to her, 'Speak to him until he speaks to you.'
يُكَلِّمَكِ — he speaks to you. A verb of the dialogue pattern with its 'he' subject built in and a 'you' (feminine) object attached, sitting in the goal-form because the 'until' before it governs it. That ending marks his replying as the target aimed at, and the suffix names her as the one he would address.
