How to say “streams” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فتحت حتى ارتجت النهر، حتى عجت الغدر،
They opened until the river roared, until the streams surged,
الغَدَرُ — the streams. This is the subject of 'roared', placed after its verb and carrying the subject ending. The 'the' makes it the specific streams, the watercourses that clamored once the rain swelled them.
