How to say “the duties” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
The sensible person is the one who gives each moment its due among the duties incumbent upon him.
الْوَاجِبِ — the duties. The al- marks this as a definite collective, 'the obligatory', and it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending forced by the 'from among' before it. It names the body of duties the moment's due is one portion of, with the next word specifying on whom they fall.
