How to say “the heaps” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنْطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ
People were made to find attractive the love of desires: women and sons, and the piled-up heaps of gold and silver.
وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ — and the heaps. The connector wa- ('and') fused onto a noun with al- ('the'), continuing the list of desired things. The wa- coordinates it with the prior items, and the same governing preposition keeps it in the genitive. It heads its own little possessive phrase with the words that follow, naming heaped wealth.
