How to say “the judges” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمَا رَأَيْتُ فِي الْقُضَاةِ أَعْقَلَ مِنْهُ
I have not seen anyone among the judges wiser than him.
الْقُضَاةِ — the judges. The al- makes this definite, 'the' judges, the known body, and it is an irregular plural that reshapes the singular rather than just adding an ending. Sitting after the preposition, it takes the genitive ending, marking the set among whom none wiser was seen.
