How to say “the notebooks” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَجَعَلْتُ مِنَ الْاِسْتِعْدَادِ لِلِّقَائِهِمْ قِطَعَاتِ الْوَرَقِ، وَبُرِّيِ الْأَقْلَامِ، وَأَحْزِمَةَ الدَّفَاتِرِ؛
So I made from the preparation for meeting them readying sheets of paper, sharpening the pens, and bundling the notebooks;
الدَّفَاتِرِ — the notebooks. A definite plural noun with al-, the owned member completing 'bundles of the notebooks', and so in the genitive. It closes the list of items prepared for the visits. Its al- makes them specific notebooks.
