How to say “the preparation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَجَعَلْتُ مِنَ الْاِسْتِعْدَادِ لِلِّقَائِهِمْ قِطَعَاتِ الْوَرَقِ، وَبُرِّيِ الْأَقْلَامِ، وَأَحْزِمَةَ الدَّفَاتِرِ؛
So I made from the preparation for meeting them readying sheets of paper, sharpening the pens, and bundling the notebooks;
الْاِسْتِعْدَادِ — the preparation. A definite noun with al- governed by the preceding 'from', and so in the genitive. It names the readiness the listed chores are part of. Its al- gives the abstract activity its generic sense.
