Arabic vocabulary
How to say “their teacher” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لِأَنَّهُمْ جَمِيعًا عَلِمُوا وَأَدْرَكُوا وَأَيَّقَنُوا أَنَّ مُعَلِّمَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ
Because they all knew, perceived, and were certain that their teacher was the Messenger of God.
مُعَلِّمَهُمْ — their teacher. A noun 'teacher' with -hum ('their') attached, the owner folded onto its tail. It is the subject of the 'that' clause but stands in the object form because the emphatic 'that' particle forces that ending on its subject. The -hum points back to the Companions, naming whose teacher is meant.
