Arabic vocabulary
How to say “to suggest” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
إِلَى غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الضَّلالِ الَّذِي سَوَّلَهُمْ إِبْلِيسُ
and other such misguidance that Satan suggested to them.
سَوَّلَهُمْ — suggested to them. A past-tense verb with an attached 'them' object on its end, so the word holds both the action and the people it was aimed at. The doer, named after it, is Satan; the suffix tracks the ones tempted.
