Arabic vocabulary
How to say “turn away” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلَا تظن أَن الشَّيْطَان غلب وَلَكِن الْحَافِظ أعرض
So do not think that Satan has overpowered, but rather the Guardian has turned away.
أَعْرَضَ — has turned away. A past-tense (form IV) verb 'turned aside / averted Himself', subject 'He' inside, the predicate of the 'but'-clause. The Guardian's turning, not Satan's strength, is the cause.
