Arabic vocabulary
How to say “two parties” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
تمرق مارقة على خير فرقة من الْمُسلمين يقتلهُمْ أدنى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ
A group will defect from the best faction of the Muslims, and the closer of the two parties will kill them.
الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ — the two parties. This is a dual noun, Arabic's special form for exactly two, here 'the two parties', with the count of two folded into its ending rather than spelled out. It is the owner closing the pairing, so it takes the genitive ending to show 'of'.
