How to say “we sought your forgiveness” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ الذَّنْبُ لَنَا فَقَدْ اِسْتَغْفَرْنَاكَ،
He said, "If the sin is ours, then indeed we sought your forgiveness."
اِسْتَغْفَرْنَاكَ — we sought your forgiveness. A past-tense seeking-forgiveness verb with its 'we' subject built in by its ending and an attached 'you' as its object, so one word holds doer and addressee. It states the consequence: forgiveness already sought. Both persons ride inside.
