How to say “well” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أيعلم جاحد القرآن أنه قد عادى من أهلك عادًا وثَمُودًا وأصحابُ الرَسِّ
Does the denier of the Quran know that he has opposed the One who destroyed Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well?
الرَّسِّ — the well. The al- makes this definite, 'the well'. As the owner closing the pairing 'the companions of the well', it stands directly after the first noun with no word for 'of' and takes the -i possessor ending.
