Arabic vocabulary
How to say “wind” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
الحمد لله الذي ساق سحاب الشهوة برعد هواء مرجوز،
Praise be to God, who drove the clouds of desire with the thunder of a turbulent wind.
هَوَاءٍ — wind. The owning half of 'thunder of a wind', in the genitive because it completes the possessive pairing. Left indefinite, it presents the wind as a general kind, so the ending alone conveys 'thunder of a wind' without any separate 'of'.
