Arabic vocabulary
صَبَرْتُمْ is how you say “you are patient” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فَقَالَ تَعَالَىٰ وَلَئِنْ صَبَرْتُمْ لَهْوُ خَيْرٌ لِلصَّابِرِينَ
And Allah, the Most High, said, "If you are patient, that is better for the patient ones."
صَبَرْتُمْ — you are patient. A past-shaped verb pressed into conditional service with 'you (plural)' built into its ending, so it reads as 'if you are patient'. After this conditional particle the past form expresses a general supposed case, not real past time.
