Arabic vocabulary
How to say “you keep your distance” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ تَعَالَى إِلَى هَذِهِ أَنْ تَبَاعَدِيِ،
So Allah, the Exalted, revealed to this one, "Keep your distance."
تَبَاعَدِيِ — you keep your distance. This is a present-shaped verb addressed to a feminine 'you', pushed into its subjunctive form by the particle before it; its altered ending is the visible sign of that control. The feminine address agrees with the land being spoken to, an agreement English cannot show on the verb at all.
