Arabic vocabulary
How to say “you turn” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِذَا صَاحُوا بِكَ فِي طَرِيقِ سَيْرِكَ فَلَا تَلْتَفِتْ إِلَيْهِمْ،
And if they call out to you in the road of your walking, then do not turn to them.
تَلْتَفِتْ — you turn. A derived (form VIII) verb 'turn / pay heed', with its 'you' subject inside. The preceding 'do not' bends its ending into the clipped jussive shape that always marks a negative command. So the form itself reads as 'don't turn (to them)'.
