يَسْتَطِيع is how you say “able” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
ونظيره قوله سبحان ﴿لا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلا هُمْ مِنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ﴾
And a similar idea is in His saying, "They are unable to help themselves, nor are they assisted by Us."
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ — they are able. A present-tense verb 'they are able' with the plural 'they' subject built into its ending, under the scope of the preceding 'not'. Arabic marks the plural doer inside the verb itself.
