Arabic vocabulary
How to say “accursed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ سُبْحَانَهُ أَخْبَرَ عَنْ إِبْلِيسِ اللَّعِينِ
And that is because God, glorified be He, has informed us about the accursed Iblis.
اللَّعِينِ — the accursed. A describing word ('the accursed') made definite by 'al-' so it can trail the name before it. It agrees with that name in case and definiteness, clamping on as a fixed epithet of the figure just named.
