How to say “addition” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
بَاعِثُ الدِّينِ بِالإِضَافَةِ إِلَى بَاعِثِ الهَوَى لَهُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَحْوَالٍ
The motive of religion, together with the motive of desire, has three states.
بِالإِضَافَةِ — with the addition. The bi- prefix is the 'with/by' preposition fused to a noun meaning 'the addition', and the pair forms the front half of the set phrase 'in addition to'. It governs the genitive and waits for the 'to' word that follows to complete the idea of accompaniment.
