Arabic vocabulary
How to say “and he begins” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أَنَّهُ يَصْعَدُ الْمِنْبَرَ، وَيَبْتَدِئُ الْقَارِئِينَ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ،
That he ascends the pulpit, and the reciters begin the recitation.
وَيَبْتَدِئُ — and he begins. A present-tense verb 'begin' with wa- on front. The wa- coordinates this action with the ascending just before it, presenting the two as part of the same scene. The 'they' subject is named just after, the reciters who start the recitation.
