Arabic vocabulary
How to say “and his prohibitions” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ فِي أُمُورِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَنَوَاهِيهِ؛
and they do not heed the commands and prohibitions of God Most High;
وَنَوَاهِيهِ — and his prohibitions. Three things in one word: a joining 'and', a plural noun for prohibitions, and a 'his' suffix on the end. The 'and' links it back to the commands, building 'commands and prohibitions' as a matched pair, while the 'his' suffix reaches back to God as the one issuing them, not to the nearest mentioned noun.
