How to say “animals” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وَبِهَذَا الْقَدْرِ فُضِّلَ الآدَمِيُّ عَلَى الْبَهَائِمِ
This is why humans are preferred over animals.
الْبَهَائِمِ — animals. Genitive plural after 'over'; the 'the' makes it the class of beasts as a whole.
From: The Discipline of Foresight →لأَنَّ الْبَهَائِمَ وَاقِفَةٌ مَعَ طِبَاعِهَا لَا نَظَرَ لَهَا إِلَى عَاقِبَةٍ وَلا فِكْرَ فِي مَآلٍ
Because animals remain with their nature, without regard to consequences and without thinking of their fate.
الْبَهَائِمَ — animals. The subject of the 'because' clause, yet in the accusative, since this 'because/that' particle governs the noun directly after it.
