آخَرَ — other. An adjective 'other/another' describing the indefinite 'god', following it and copying its indefinite accusative ending. The matching marks tie 'other' to that noun, completing 'another god'.
From: What Worship Really Means →وَقَالَ تَعَالَى وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ

آخَرَ — other. An adjective 'other/another' describing 'a god', matching it in being indefinite and in the accusative (object) form. Arabic adjectives follow their noun and agree with it in definiteness and case, which is why this is indefinite and object-formed. It pins the prohibition to any 'other' god besides the One.
