How to say “appeared” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وكلما لاح آمال فؤادي دار على مرادي الفلك،
Every time the hopes of my heart appear, the course of fate aligns with my desire.
لَاحَتْ — it appeared. This is a past-tense verb carrying a feminine -at ending, which agrees with its subject 'hopes' coming right after. Arabic verbs commonly sit before their subjects and bend to match them in gender, so the feminine mark here tells the reader the doer is the feminine-plural 'hopes', not anything earlier.
