How to say “attributed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَضَافَهُ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ بِلَفْظِ الْكَلَامِ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﴿حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ كَلَامَ اللَّهِ﴾،
and attributed it to His Own speech in His saying: 'Until he hears the words of Allah',
وَأَضَافَهُ — and attributed it. The wa- opens the sentence, fused to a past-tense verb in the pattern meaning to attribute, with an attached object pronoun, 'and he attributed it'. The doer is God; the pronoun points to the saying, and the verb governs its goal through the next preposition.
