Arabic vocabulary
How to say “avoid” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَتَعَيَّنَ عَلَيْنَا الْفَحْصُ عَنِ الْكَبَائِرِ مَا هِيَ لِكَيْ يَجْتَنِبَهَا الْمُسْلِمُونَ
Therefore, it is necessary for us to investigate which are the major sins so that Muslims can avoid them.
يَجْتَنِبَهَا — he avoids them. A present-tense verb in its 'aim' shape because of the purpose particle, with its 'he/they' subject pattern and a 'them' object attached to its end pointing back to the sins. So one word means 'they may avoid them'.
