How to say “be balanced” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وينبغي أن يصلح حاره ببارده،
And its hotness should be balanced with its coldness.
يُصْلَحَ — be balanced. This is a passive verb: the heat does not act but is acted upon, 'be corrected, be balanced'. Arabic marks the passive not with a helper like English 'is/was' but by changing the internal vowels of the verb. It also sits in the subjunctive mood because the particle an precedes it.
From: The Art of Eating Well →فَهُوَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يُصْلِحُ النُّفُوسَ وَيَتَأَلَّفُهَا
He is an expert in what reforms the souls and brings them into harmony.
يُصْلِحُ — he reforms. A present-tense verb on the 'make right' causative pattern, 'reforms/sets right', with a hidden 'it/that' subject from the relative. The corrective sense is built into the verb's shape, and its object follows directly.
