Arabic vocabulary
اصْبِرُوا is how you say “be patient” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فَقَالَ تَعَالَىٰ وَاصْبِرُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ
Then the Exalted said, "And be patient; indeed, Allah is with the patient."
وَاصْبِرُوا — and be patient. wa- joins this command to the quoted speech, and the verb is a plural order ('you all, be patient'). The plural is built into the verb's ending, so one word addresses a whole group with a directive.
