  Narrated by Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him:

  رَضِيَ — he was pleased. A past verb, 'was pleased', beginning the pious formula whose subject 'God' comes next. Past in form, it works here as a prayer, 'may God be pleased...', set after a Companion's name.

  As if it pleased them and they were pleased with it, and this is more expressive than merely being satisfactory.

  رَضِيَتْ — pleased them. A past-tense verb 'it was pleased / it pleased', with the feminine -t ending agreeing with the life. The feminine ending is agreement; the verb gives the life's own side of the mutual pleasure.
