How to say “broken” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فالمدفوق الذي وقع عليه فعلك كالمكسور والمضروب
So "madfuq" is that which your action falls upon, like "maksur" (broken) and "madrub" (struck).
كَالْمَكْسُورِ — like 'maksur'. A preposition ka- (like) fused onto a passive participle made definite by al-, 'like the broken one'. The ka- draws a comparison and forces the genitive; the participle is another maf'ul-pattern 'done-to' noun, here 'that which has been broken'.
