Arabic vocabulary
How to say “came to him” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا عَلَى أَحَدٍ، إِذَا أَتَتْهُ صَدَقَةٌ بَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَيْهِمْ،
And no one is required, when a charitable gift comes to him, to send it to them.
أَتَتْهُ — came to him. A past verb 'came', carrying a feminine subject marker and the object 'him', so 'it came to him'; the feminine marker agrees with the gift mentioned next. Arabic marks the verb feminine to match a feminine subject even before that subject appears. The attached 'him' is the recipient.
