How to say “carry them” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ولكن لا أجد سعة فأحملهم ولا يجدون سعة عليهم أن يتخلفوا عني،
but I do not find the means to provide mounts for them, nor do they find the means to go out on their own,
فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ — to provide mounts for them. This is fa- (so) on a present-tense verb with 'them' attached as object and an 'I' subject built in, 'so I carry them'. The fa- here ties a purpose to the wished-for means, and the verb sits in the subjunctive ending that such a 'so-that' purpose requires, marking it as the aim, not a fact; the suffix marks the men carried.
