Arabic vocabulary
How to say “common people” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يَنَهَلُونَ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ وَوَعْظِهِ وَتَذْكِيرِهِ خَاصَّتَهُمْ وَعَامَّتَهُمْ،
Both the elite and the common people drew from his knowledge, his preaching, and his reminders,
وَعَامَّتَهُمْ — and their common people. A noun for the common folk, with 'their' attached and wa- joining it to the 'elite' noun before it. The two together form a span-the-whole-range pairing ('high and low alike'); the wa- here yokes the two halves of that set phrase, not a loose list.
