Arabic vocabulary
How to say “contemplate” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
أجل فكرك في أركانك وتدبر بناء بنانك ويكفي في العبر نطق لسانك كلما تلوى،
Reflect on your own limbs and consider the construction of your fingertips; it is enough as a lesson that your tongue speaks whenever it turns.
أَجِلْ — contemplate. This is a command form addressed to 'you' (a single man), telling the listener to set his thought to work. A command in Arabic is built on a clipped verb shape with the 'you' subject understood, so no separate pronoun appears; it directly orders the action.
