Arabic vocabulary
انْحَدَرَ is how you say “descend” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فانحدرت صخرة من الجبل فسدت عليهم الغار،
Then a rock fell down from the mountain and blocked the entrance of the cave.
فَانْحَدَرَتْ — so it fell down. This joins the connector fa- ('and then') to a verb whose shape is the self-acting (reflexive) pattern: the rock comes down of its own accord, with no outside pusher named. Arabic builds this 'it happened to itself' sense by reshaping the verb rather than adding a helper word.
