How to say “during” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنْتَظَمَ أَوَائِلُ الْآيَاتِ الْمَقْرُوءَاتِ فِي أَثْنَاءِ خُطْبَتِهِ،
The openings of the recited verses fell into place during his sermon.
أَثْنَاءِ — during. A noun 'midst/course', governed by the 'in' before it so it carries the genitive, and the head of a possessive pairing with 'his sermon' that follows. It builds 'in the course of his sermon', pinning the moment to the body of the address.
