فَإِنَّهُ لَوْلا مَيْلُهُ إِلَى الْمَطْعَمِ مَا أَكَلَ
For if not for his inclination towards food, he would not eat.
أَكَلَ — would eat. Past-tense verb, subject 'he' built in; with 'ma' = 'he would not have eaten'.

And if you were excused in passionate longing, you would not have been gluttonous, and love would have made you forget excessive eating.
الْأَكْلِ — eating. A verbal noun 'eating', the owner completing 'the abundance of eating', genitive. Over-eating, which love would have erased from mind.

And those created with the power for eating and drinking experience pleasure by exercising their strength in them.
الأَكْلِ — for eating. 'Eating', the owner completing 'the power of eating', genitive, definite. The appetite for food.

And Allah described the corrupt scholars as devouring the world with knowledge.
بِأَكْلِ — as devouring. Here 'bi-' is fused on to mark what they are described as: 'as devouring'. The preposition attaches the manner of description and governs the action-noun after it, which names the act of eating up the world.
