How to say “enjoy” in Arabic, with pronunciation and real example sentences from OpenArabic texts.
وَلْيَعْلَمِ الْعَاقِلُ أَنَّ مُدْمِنِي الشَّهَوَاتِ يَصِيرُونَ إِلَى حَالَةٍ لَا يَلْتَذُّونَهَا
Let the rational person know that those addicted to desires end up in a state where they no longer enjoy them.
يَلْتَذُّونَهَا — enjoy them. Present-tense verb with '-una' 'they' in the ending and 'them' (the desires) clipped on as object; negated by the preceding 'not'. Since the 'state' is indefinite, this clause describes it with no linking 'where/that'.
From: The Discipline of Foresight →وَلِهَذَا تَرَى مُدْمِنَ الْخَمْرِ وَالْجِمَاعِ لَا يَلْتَذُّ بِذَلِكَ عُشْرَ الْتِذَاذِ مَنْ لَمْ يُدْمِنْ
This is why you see that the addict to wine and intimacy does not enjoy it even a tenth as much as one who is not addicted.
يَلْتَذُّ — he enjoys. Present-tense verb with 'he' built in, negated to 'does not enjoy'. The prefixed shape marks a 'take pleasure in' pattern.
