Arabic vocabulary
How to say “falling” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَعْلَنَ التَّائِبُونَ بِالصِّيَاحِ، وَتَسَاقَطُوا عَلَيْهِ تَسَاقُطُ الْفِرَاشِ عَلَى الْمِصْبَاحِ،
The repentant cried out, and they fell upon him like moths falling on a lamp.
تَسَاقُطُ — falling. A verbal noun (action-as-noun) heading a comparison of how they fell. It opens a likeness phrase, and the noun directly after it is owned by it in a possessive pairing, building the image of moths' falling without a separate word for 'of'.
