الْمِصْبَاحِ — the lamp,. This noun carries al- 'the', pointing to the specific lamp in the cell, and it sits in the genitive because the preposition before it governs it. The definiteness marks it as a known object in the scene. Its case is set by the relating word, not by a subject or object role.
