How to say “gardens” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لِلَّذِينَ اِتَّقَوْا عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ
For those who were conscious of their Lord, there will be gardens beneath which rivers flow.
جَنَّاتٌ — gardens. An indefinite plural noun 'gardens', the subject of a verbless 'there are ...' statement — the reward itself. Its indefiniteness leaves the gardens unbounded, gardens of an unstated, vast kind. The plural is formed with an added feminine ending. It is the thing promised to the pious.
