Arabic vocabulary
How to say “give it” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَلْيُهْدِيهِ إِلَيْهِ حَيْثُ كَانَ مِنْ بُيُوتِ نِسَائِهِ،
So let him give it to him wherever he was from the houses of his wives.
فَلْيُهْدِهِ — so let him give it. Three forces packed into one word: a linking fa- ('so'), a command-marker that turns the verb into an order aimed at a third party ('let him give'), and the verb itself with its 'it' object attached. The little command-marker is what bends the verb into the let-him form, since Arabic cannot say 'let him' with a separate word.
